The Release Manager must involve in planning for the tasks and actions necessary for a smooth transition of the Release And
Deployment Management process to the Client or other Service Provider. The list of handover activities to be performed with
their completion timelines are identified in this phase. Before starting with the handover activities, the resources
required to execute these handover activities must be defined along with their roles and responsibilities. The terms and
conditions on the handover activities are put in place before commencing the handover actions.
In case of outstanding issues or defects (if any), the Client (or incumbent) must be informed about the same and the
respective actin plan (if applicable).
During the Transition Handover-Out phase, one of the important tasks to be completed is to archive all relevant documents
and records. The Release Manager must ensure that all documents and records are archived and stored in a repository for
future purpose.
The Engagement Manager must take Client sign-off on the Release And Deployment Management handover activities which
confirms the formal closure of Release And Deployment Management process.
